Ever After
Once upon a time,
There was a happily ever after.
T'was more like a dime,
And evenings full of laughter.
The riddles,
The griddles,
And the diddly docks,
Were nothing more,
Than things on a clock.
If ever after were real to be,
Then why hasn't there been one for me?
I bore and tire,
With nothing to do,
But sit here and dream.
Of an ever after,
That will never be.
